The Best Time to Travel for Your Purse

I already blogged about how to save money for your holidays and I posted about several travel cost topics. You can also find my newest post on how to find cheap flights. I hope that all these posts could prepare you for your trip. Today’s post is about booking your holidays. „WHEN am I supposed to book my trip?

»My Tips: Avoid these holidays

  • Christmas and New Years Eve

The days around Christmas and NYE are the most expensive ones. A lot of people are willing to pay a lot to visit their family and the companies know that. If possible – try to travel around the 18th or 19th of December or after the  03rd/04th of January.

  • Chinese New Year

If you want to travel to Asia – avoid the Chinese New Year. These holidays are celebrated and are the most important holidays in China. Tons of people are moving in Singapur, Hongkong, Bangkok and so on. The LNYE is around the 21st January and the 21st February. This year it will be on the 8th of February of 2016.

  • Summer aka. Main Season

Everybody loves summer. The weather is great, it’s perfect for weddings, the children have school holidays and you can plan to meet your family. You can do everything from road trips, beach trips, camping, hiking, honeymoon and international trips.

Check the weather when booking – if the weather is good here, it doesn’t mean it’s like this in Thailand too. For example if you want to travel to Thailand in June – it’s no good. It’s rain season by then.

  • Public holidays

We all love these days – free time without taking your limited holidays. It’s not worth booking if you want to save money. The tickets are more expensive and if you’re on holiday you can’t do anything there because a lot of shops are closed on holidays as well as the attractions.

  • Spring Break

The long cold winter is gone and spring is here. Everybody wants to go on holiday. Try to avoid Spring Break. A lot of students will be travelling and partying. Spring Break is from end of February to April.

»Many of you can only travel at that time?
The job choice is a big factor as well. You should choose well beforehand….

»My Tips: Best time to travel

  • Spring and or Fall

Try this time, if you can. The landscape is great and the restaurants, shops, streets, tours and attractions are not too crowded.

  • Midweek to Midweek

If you book your trip starting from the mid of the week it will be much cheaper – no matter where you’re travelling to. If you’re flexible than you should book a trip and depart midweek.

  • Take off on Wednesday or Thursday

Most tourists want to travel on weekends. You will save your free days from work, but it will be more expensive.

»The advantage of trips with a lot of time difference:
When you arrive on Wednesday or Thursdays you’ll be fit on the weekend with no more jetlag.

  • Choose unusual times

A lot of people prefer flying at night, when the flight is long, so they can sleep. On city trips most people prefer flying very early to use the rest of the day. If you find flights at 12AM – 1AM  or 3AM – 4AM you can avoid other tourists and high prices.

  • Book the flights at night or at noon

The flights are more expensive in the evening – because everyone gets home from work and has time between 5PM and 9PM. Try booking at noon or late at night, when less people are online.
