So…I thought about how to start this blogpost, what I wanted to write, and how to express the thoughts in my head to you. In the last few months I’ve traveled a lot and I experienced so many great things while getting to know new people and myself.

If someone had told me five years ago that I would create a blog and travel alone, I would have laughed at that person. I already told you about my fear while traveling a couple of weeks ago. Today, I know that I can really be proud of myself – simply because I overcame my fear, clenched my teeth, and traveled alone. For some people this might not be a big deal – for me it is. Today I know I can handle so much more.

I grew from being introverted to being open – talking to new people and getting to know them. I used to be very shy. Most people I meet now wouldn’t believe me but humans change. In the last few months, I’ve learned that there will always be people who don’t like me. Those who always have something to criticize. That’s ok, I can live with that. I don’t want to be everybody’s darling, because everyone has their own opinion and you can only learn to deal with it.

I also learned to not always compare myself to others. I obviously want to be more successful and have more followers. But is that so important? I can tell you it’s not. You have to remember the most important thing is to be honest with yourself and to do what you like to do – not what others expect. That’s what makes you who you are.

I learned to be honest to myself and not to pretend to be someone else. Why pretend to be someone else, when you can be unique instead? Thanks to traveling and learning so many new things, I got to know myself better. I have to tell you that I’ve never had a lot of self-confidence and I still have to work on myself. But I improve a lot and after every trip it gets better and better.
