Life Lately: The Last 5 Months & Future Plans

It’s unbelievable how fast time goes by. My last life lately blogpost was in November. It’s been 7 months since then. That’s why I want to tell you about the last 6 months. In this blogpost you can read what’s happened in my life since January 1, 2016. I was on the road quite a bit. Not often enough, though! I’d love to double it!

Even if it was very cool with all the traveling, events, and invitations, I have to admit that I was stressed. I don’t want to admit it, but I have so many things to do. Most people thinks it’s funny and great and that I’m just chilling all the time. That really annoys me, because no one can imagine how much I work. If I count both my job and my blog it means that I’m working 60 hours a week. I’m not writing this post to wine, though. I’m writing this to tell you about my life, which can also be stressful but still wonderful.

» My StatisticsThis were the first two quarters of the year

0
Flights
0
Hotel Beds
0
ICE Train Rides
0
Ferry Rides

Since I wanted to know for myself, I went through my records to get the data. Each flight, every bus tour, car rental and bike tour. As you can see on the left, I’ve flown 16x this year. I slept in hotel beds for 28 Nights. I’ve rented a car once, took the ferry 4x and died nearly once. I took the train 4x and I drove along the German-French estates twice. I also did 4x wonderful bike tours and went by bus 2x.

Thailand was unbelievable again. We did so many things and it was really great. Bangkok was magical. I’m a country bumpkin but I loved this wild, hectic city. Maybe because I love Thais in general. As well as the food :-D I would have loved to stay there. I wonder how the locals feel about the city. If they still find it charming. Has anyone here stayed longer in Bangkok? And if yes – what did you do there? I’m really curious to read your stories.

» Wachsende Community: Wenn andere dich glücklich machen

I had the same topic last year and I want to talk about it again, because it’s 100% true. That’s the reason I’m doing all this. Because it makes me happy to share my information, inspiration and to post useful blogposts. Either on my blog or via social media. That’s why I’m happy that my Digital Travel Community works so well. I talked to Vicky in April and she said “Julia, your travel group is the only one on Facebook that I bookmarked. It’s the only group really working out and that is helpful.” Nothing makes me happier than a compliment like this!

If you want to join my group as well then just search for Digital Travel Community on Facebook. If you join, you can meet like-minded people, travel lovers, trave lbloggers and digital nomads. There are also blogging and travel tips, resources, offers and giveaways. I hope you like my group!

Another huge project is to translate this blog. I’m working together with Manuel so that we can launch the English version of the blog in autumn, but that takes a lot of time. Time, that I don’t really have right now. That’s why we’re not getting forward very fast. But I’m trying hard and I will update you as soon as possible. A travel blog only in German is possible, but it’s hard to network with other bloggers. I have so many nice followers on Facebook and Instagram that can’t read my blog, because it’s only in German. That’s why I decided to post multilingual. I wonder how this will work :-D Luckily I have a lot of nice girls helping me. Thanks guys ;-) I know you will read this :)))

» Bucket List: Moments you never forget & set new goals

A lot of big trips from the last Life Lately post are now in the past. I’ve visited Santorini and Thailand and I can’t believe that I did it. To enjoy the view over the Caldera on Santorini was on part of my bucket list. It’s so unbelievable, that I can still hardly believe it myself. And I was in Mallorca for the first time! Yay! Who would have thought this!  I always thought I don’t want to go there – too many social deviants and drunk people. But NOPE! The island is so beautiful and interesting. I liked it so much, that I’ll come back in July (in 3 weeks) Yay!

Save money for 2017 ♔ 75%

And now I want to tell you about the second half of this year. I haven’t planned anything yet. We have some private and work related reason, which makes us unsure about our next trip. That’s why I set myself some other goals for 2016!

Since Instagram is so fun to me – I want to communicate a lot on that platform and concentrate on it. At the end of this summer I want to reach the 50K. We will see if this works. If you don’t follow me yet, I’d be happy if you take a look there. You can find me here @chicchoolee – obviously :-D

I also want to save a lot of money for 2017 so that we can plan a lot of trips. A Safari, the Maldives, Bahamas or Dubai are all on my Travel Bucket List. Let’s see what I can do about this. Whoa, I planned the cheapest destinations. But the most beautiful and with the right planning and organization you can save a lot. Which destination do you think is the most beautiful? If you had to decide, which choice would it be? I’m still indecisive.

I want to thank you again that you always follow me on my trips. That you come here to read my stories. Thank you for every nice comment. I read everything and I’m always happy when a new comment is posted. It doesn’t matter if it’s here or on some other platform. What I learned in the last 5 months: Number 1. Set your eyes on a goal and write them down! Number 2. You can do anything, if you want it 100%! And Number 3. Get rest once in a while!
