Holiday costs and expenses - My holiday in Koh Chang, Thailand

Hi guys! A lot of you asked me if I could post an article about the most important facts from my holiday in Thailand (costs, the flight, the hotels and the island). Since this is not a secret, I put some facts together for you. Let’s go:

Flights
Airline: KLM
Costs: 600 Euro
Economy Comfort Seats (between Economy and Business).

Note: A lot of you asked me why the flight was so cheap.

♥ It wasn’t a direct flight
♥ You can find great deals with the App „OnTheFly“. The flights were cheaper than those we found with Checkfelix/Swoodoo.

Hotel
1. Hotel – Tropicana Koh Chang Resort & Spa
We were on Koh Chang for 23 days and we decided on two hotels, because one would be too boring. We were in th eTropicana Koh Chang Resort & Spa for 7 days. We paid 570€ which comes out to 285€ per person. The hotel is located by the main street of Klong Prao (You can find blogposts about restaurants, bars etc. HERE).

2. Hotel – The Dewa Resort Koh Chang
For the rest of the holiday we stayed at The Dewa Koh Chang. We paid 1,780 Euro – which was 890€ for each person. The hotel is beautiful and the architecture is unique. The pool is huge and the beach was great. The staff was more than just courteous.

Please do NOT book full board in Thailand. You will miss out on so much. There are so many great restaurants. You don’t have to worry at all. The food in the hotels is relatively expensive for Thailand. If you buy food at the beach, you will only pay 10€ for several dishes, cocktails and a softdrink.

Additional Costs: This is not a joke. The additional costs in Thailand are minimal. Here you can find a list of things we did in 23 days:

Costs for the food:
We paid around 253€ for everything listed above for 3 weeks (~ 11€/day) and all in all 126.50€ per Person.

Costs for other things (Trips, massages, taxi)
We paid around 160 Euro per person for the whole time.

TOUREN/DEALS/ETC.
You don’t have to prebook anything because there are offers everywhere. There were around 15 vendors at our beach. It’s the same with taxis – when you’re alone with a map inhand, a taxidriver will honk at you immediately and ask to drive you somewhere.

We paid around 2.000€ all in all, and I rounded up all the prices!
