The 10 best travelling apps for your Smartphone

Hey guys! For those following me, you know I’ll be on the go in the near future. If you’re travelling a lot, you may need maps, a hotel, a rental car or whatever. I think planning your holiday is super easy now thanks to smartphones., which let you find cheap flights or translation apps!

Skyscanner (Free App)
Skyscanner searches through every airline to find the best price. It’s also great when you’re flexible. I found a flight from Vienna to Rome for 70€.

OnTheFly (Free App)
This app is great as well – I love the diagrams. It’s good when you don’t set a fixed timerange for traveling. You can see which point and when’s the cheapest day. You can also filter your departure and arrival time.  I found a flight from vienna to Thailand (Trat) for 600€ with this app.

Wi-Fi Finder (Free App)
The name says it all – this app finds wifi spots. Super fast and easy.

Flight Tracker (Free App)
You can see every flight in real time.

Sygic (Gratis App)

I looove Sygic. It works offline as well, so you don’t have to worry about extra data charges. It’s a wonderful navigation app working with GPS without Internet. You can download every country when you’re at home or keep them updated. You can also upgrade the app by paying to get extra functions like heads-up navigation, traffic news, and different navigation voices like Homer Simpson or Snoop Dog. I nearly forgot that you can mark your hotspots on this map as well.

Kayak (Free App)
Easy and intelligent search engine. You can research your flight, hotel and rental cars. There’s also a link to TripAdvisor, so you can read others’ reviews.

Other useful apps

Currency (free App)
I use this app a lot – even when I’m just online shopping at home. It’s super fast and updates itself each time you go online.

Dict.cc. (free App)
You can download whole dictionaries with this app and use them offline.

iTranslate Voice (€4.,99)
Record the things you want to say (just like talking to Siri) and your phone will translate it. It shows your words on the display. This app can be used offline as well.

We all know Holidaycheck, Booking, TripAdvisor and so on. I found another great app, which only works in the US.

Hotelupgrade US (Free App)

If you’re searching for a hotel in the US, you should use this app to search for deals and upgrades. If you like something, you can book it with an upgrade. Tip: The longer you stay at a hotel, the better the deal.

Skype (Free App)
You can send videos, texts and photos. You can do live videochats as well.

WhatsApp (Free App)
With Whatsapp you can do the same things as Skype except videochatting.

Everplaces (free App)
The Pinterest/Instagram for everyone travelling. Mark your favorite restaurants, hotels or whatever. You can search for other HotSpots as well.
