Everyone knows the feeling, your friends and family post tons of great holiday pictures. The wanderlust can’t get any bigger. Or you return from a great holiday but in your head you’re there. If I’m not travelling, I’m thinking about travelling. But you can’t always be on the go. Not enough money or time. So I’ve got tips for you to fight the wanderlust from home.
Fight the Wanderlust – 10 Things to do!
1. Visit a new restaurant in your area and eat something completely new.
The easiest way to explore another country is to try the food. Go eat something new! Or go to a cooking lesson.
2. Book a night in a nice hotel in the next town.
Just one night might help. You can relax all day, drink some champaign. Isn’t that just luxury?
3. Get up early to take a look at the rising sun.
Do you know the feeling when you need to get up early to get to the airport. You’re super excited and you can’t wait to see the sunrise. Normally getting up early is not so easy. So I recommend preparing your breakfast the night before, getting up before 6, get some coffee and take a seat on your balcony, if you have one.
4. Visit a Museum in your own town.
5. Get on the local train and take a look at your own city.
6. Glamping!
Maybe you can camp in the woods with a little luxury. It’s fun to grill some marshmallows or sausages.
7. Pinterst! Pin, pin, pin,…
Get a travel pin board and gather pictures! I love looking at these pictures and imagine that I’m there myself. Take a look at my pin board. :-)
8. Read travel blogs.
9. Set goals and plan the next trip.
10. Do super short trips – even if it’s only another city or a country nearby.
