The 5-star Amari Watergate Bangkok is located directly in the buzzing Pratunam quarter in the Petchburi city centre. If you’re travelling to Bangkok and in need of cheap shopping opportunities, this is the place to be! Not far from the Amari Hotel there are countless spectacular markets and shopping streets, such as the Platinum Shopping Mall or the Pratunam Market. In this post, I’m going to tell you more about the location, furniture, tidiness, food and staff at the hotel.

» The Room: Executive Club Room

Our room at the Amari Watergate was located on the 32nd floor – almost at the top. There were two more floors above us. We were so excited when we stepped into the elevator and could not wait to check in at the Executive Lounge. If you book a room in the Executive Lounge, you’ll be asked to check in at the smaller and more private reception. The view from up there – indescribable! I could not concentrate on listening to the nice receptionist because I was so impressed by the view.

Luckily, we could go to our room right after arriving at the hotel. We were speechless when we opened the doors to our 40 square meters room! As hoped, our room did not only have a rainforest shower but also a big bathtub, with window so you could watch TV while lying in the tub! Of course, the room also had the necessities, such as blow-dryer, safe, EU-sockets and air conditioning. The glass wall in front of the bed, however, was the most brilliant thing about our room!

» The Breakfast: at the Executive Club

What I love about Asian breakfast: sushi, phat thai and noodle soup. Is there anything better? Yeah okay, rotis are delicious as well! But apart from the Asian cuisine, one could find everything the heart desired at the Executive Lounge. Honey, jam, eggs, cheese, sausages, fruit, veggies and fresh pressed juices. I think my pictures are worth more than a thousand words.

I especially loved the honey fresh from the honeycombs. Looks extremely cute, doesn’t it? Oh and if you think the breakfast buffet is too small, you could also go and eat your breakfast at the main breakfast room with all the other guests from the hotel. However, we didn’t go at all because we had an amazing table in front of the glass windows. ♥ ♥ ♥

» The Hotel: Pool, Fitness & Restaurants

If you’re not exhausted enough after a shopping marathon, you could also enter the hotel fitness room or swim a few laps in the pool. We were so busy with shopping, eating and sightseeing, so we never went there. We did use the pool though!That was amazing! Of course, the pool is located outdoors, so it’s also perfect for tanning! Speaking about food, the hotel has 7 restaurants and lounges. So, if you do not feel like eating on the streets, you don’t have to bother – from Italian to American and European kitchen, the Amari Watergate has it all!
