What Does an Rome Trip Cost? – Detailed Cost Lineup

Today’s post is about what we paid in Rome. This trip was on a low budget, which means that there was little luxury. For those who are willing to pay more for a hotel – I gathered some hotels out of every price range for you.

Detailed Cost Lineup

The Flight

We saved tons of money by flying with EasyJet. We paid 49,98€ per Person (= 99,96€). A normal flight would have been150€ per Person. Here is my post about Easyjet

The Hotel

We stayed at a room near the Coliseum. I booked it via Booking.com. We paid 195€ per Person (390€) for 2 nights and no meals. Here’s more Info about our hotel.

The Transport

The price for a cab from the airport Rome-Fiumicino to your hotel (it doesn’t matter where the hotel is) is always 48 Euro, which means it’s 96 EUR in total (for also getting back to the airport). The airport is about 45 minutes away. You can read about cabs and theft here.

The Food

We ate the following dishes!

Day 1: Lunch
Spaghetti Pomodoro, Bruschetta with mozzarella and tomatoes, Pizza, big Coke and 1L of water: 57 Euro (€€€€)

Day 1: Dinner
5 scoops of icecream: 6 Euro (€)

Day 2: Breakfast
Espresso, Cafe Latte, chocolate croissant, panini: 9 Euro (€)

Day 2: Lunch
Lasagna, Bruschetta with mozzarella and tomatoes, Spaghetti Carbonara, 1L of Water: 35 Euro (€€€€)

Day 1: Coffee/Dinner
2 scoops of icecream in brioche, 2 normal balls of icecream: 11 Euro (€€)

Day 2: Dinner – Di Marceilo
Pizza Diavolo, Penne Arrabiata, bread, Coke, Soda-Lemon and a housewine: 21 Euro (€€)

Day 3: Breakfast
Cafe Latte, orange juice, croissant, panini: 6 Euro (€)

Tours

We also took a look around Rome, which is not cheap! I listed all the activities including their price. Book at home or you will stand in line for hours!

Costs: 33 EUR/p.P. + earphones, audioguide and other fees 23 EUR p.P. = 56 EUR/p.P

Costs: 11.50 EUR/p.P. + 6 EUR/p.P. audioguide = 17,50 EUR/p.P

Day 3: Bustour via Hop On Hop Off. Costs: 20 EUR/p.P.

We saved money with our flight and the hotel. You can also save some money with the tours, if you don’t buy an audioguide. Just buy a book instead. The bustour can be left out as well – rent a bike instead. We also ate more expensive, you could also choose cheaper restaurants to save money. You can use the train instead of a cab from the airport – this will save you 10-20€.

Costs Exklusivholiday in Rom

If you want to fly with a normal airline or stay at a 4-5 star hotel, you will have to pay more. Breakfast will be included though and if you eat enough, lunch doesn’t have to be so big. If you like good restaurants, it can cost up to 150€ per dinner. I gathered some hotels – the prices are always for 3 days (2 nights) and breakfast for two people.
